Ur Ego's Not Ur Amigo (W) Black

Help Spread This Truth

Ur Ego’s Not Ur Amigo (W)is a message as humorous as it is profound, and is rooted in the recognition that all needless suffering arises from self cherishing, and all happiness is born from holding others as most important. So long as ego clinging/self cherishing remains, our ability to express love and compassion will be limited, and we will remain unable to experience the fullness of the inborn wisdom which is the true nature of all beings. Ur Ego’s Not Ur Amigo is written in a font popularized during the excess fueled age of disco. Ur Ego’s Not Ur Amigo will bring about as many smiles as it will self reflection.

Our organic apparel is made from blends consisting of organic bamboo, organic cotton, and or organic hemp. All of our organic bamboo and organic cotton t-shirts and hoodies are printed with water based inks.

Why Bamboo?:

It is very comfortable, breathable, absorbent, quick-drying, durable, machine washable, antimicrobial, soft, and naturally sustainable…

Organic bamboo feels like a cross between silk and cashmere. Organic bamboo is soft, breathable, naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal. These qualities are innate in the bamboo and not lost during manufacturing or repeated washings.

Bamboo grows quickly, it is a resource that is not only sustainable, but also gives back to the environment,–it only needs to be planted once and then harvested on a periodic rotation.

Because bamboo grows at the incredible rate of 1-3 feet every 24 hours, it makes it one of the most renewable resources on the planet. Producing 30% more oxygen than a hardwood forest on an acre of land, and sequestering 25 tons of carbon dioxide per year, compared to only 6 tons from a young forest on that very same acre, organic bamboo is quickly gaining notoriety.

Organic Bamboo is used in everything from food, flooring and construction to bed sheets and underwear, bamboo is rapidly becoming a popular choice for environmentally conscious people around the world. Bamboo is cruelty free, and replenishes the environment, making it a perfect choice for conscientious people striving to do no harm.

Bamboo fabric is made from the fibers of bamboo grass, and is softer and more sustainable than cotton, but perfect to blend with organic cotton.

Bamboo’s natural fiber properties make it non-irritating and a very suitable substitute choice for those with sensitive skin. It also has a natural protection against UV rays. Bamboo is considered an excellent moisture wicking fabric that helps keep you dry while comfortable making it a great choice for casual wear, or during yoga, sports and work.

Why Organic Cotton?:

Because of its purity, organic cotton is naturally softer, hypoallergenic, more comfortable, breathable, warming or cooling to the body, and perspiration-resistant. By law in order for any crop or seed to be considered organic, seeds and crops need to be pesticide free and never genetically modified (GMO). Like bamboo, organic cotton builds strong soil through crop rotation and retains more water efficiently thanks to increased organic matter in the soil.

Organic cotton is hand picked rather than harvested with the use of chemical or mechanical means. Weed control thru cultivation and hand hoeing maintains a balance between pests and their natural predators through healthy soil.

Organic cotton production insures our earth’s health by using beneficial insects and other biological practices to control pests such as using a trap crop which lure insects away from the cotton plant.

Why Hemp?:

Hemp has a linen-like feel to it. Four times stronger than cotton, hemp is tough and durable. By blending hemp with cotton one adds softness to the fabric making it comfortable for everyday wear. Hemp has been used over the centuries to make rope, clothing, paper and other necessary products. Hemp filters UV light, resists bacteria growth and keeps your body dry. It retains dye better than any other fabric so colors won’t fade.

Hemp uses less water, resists insects and crowds out other weeds, making pesticides and fertilizers unnecessary.
